Rules and objective
Hit as many moving targets as possible during one 30-second round. Targets relocate inside the bounded play field after every successful hit, while a visible countdown ends the round.
How scoring works
Every valid target hit adds one point; the locally stored best is the highest completed score. Scores are saved only in this browser's local storage, so changing devices or clearing site data starts a new local record.
What we checked in this build
We checked pointer and touch-sized controls, target containment, countdown completion and replay behavior.
This note describes the Starbox implementation rather than the rules of every similarly named game elsewhere.
Watch the field, not the cursor
Targets appear at changing positions inside the play area. Keep your gaze near the center so peripheral vision can detect movement in every direction. If your eyes chase the pointer after each hit, the next target may appear outside your attention. Let the hand return toward center while the eyes scan the whole field.
Use controlled movement
Move directly to the target and tap once. Overshooting creates a second correction and usually costs more time than a slightly slower first movement. On a mouse, lower excessive pointer acceleration if it causes misses. On touchscreens, use the finger that blocks the least screen area and lift cleanly after each hit.
Build speed in clean sets
Aim for ten consecutive accurate hits before pushing pace. Then increase speed slightly while preserving the same hit quality. A frantic opening often creates misses, breaks rhythm, and makes the remaining seconds less useful. Stable cycles—spot, move, tap, recenter—produce more attempts without requiring uncontrolled motion.
Compare equivalent sessions
Screen size and input method strongly affect target distance. Compare scores only on the same device and orientation. If you improve, check whether misses fell as well as total hits rose. Stop when wrist or finger tension appears; fatigue encourages large, inaccurate movements and is not a useful training condition.
